Category: Residential Large
Size: Extremely large
Condition: Varying
Inhabitants: Lower class workers, homeless
Description
The Gridlock is the name given to the large stacks of residential buildings that take up most of Manta nowadays. It references the large, square, prefabricated building templates that were installed in large numbers during the early construction days. These stacks reach up to fifty stories and are built in dense clusters. Due to it being so congested, maintenance is nearly impossible and as a result, when a section becomes too damaged to continue operating, the workers are merely relocated to a new stack. This leaves numerous spaces for homeless, gangs and other unemployed groups to set up camp. The maze like layout and thousands of side passages make navigating the stacks outside of preset paths nearly impossible and those who go exploring, sometimes fail to make their way back.
